Olympics 2012: Must-Watch Events for Wednesday, August 8
It's day 12 of the Olympics and some events are just getting started, while others are coming to an end. With 16 events and 16 gold medals up for grabs today there's plenty to keep you tuned in.

Here's a look at what you can't miss:

Women's Beach Volleyball
It's USA vs. USA playing for the gold! Oh, who to root for? Misty Mae-Treanor and Kerri Walsh Jennings are looking to retire in style, with their third consecutive gold medal. April Ross and Jennifer Kessy are looking for their first.

Basketball
The men's quarterfinals stage is today. Undefeated Team USA faces 3-2 Australia.

Track & Field
The women compete in the final rounds for 1500m, 200m, long jump, and 400m hurdles. The men compete in the 110m hurdles final.

Decathlon
What did I say about the Olympic triathletes making the rest of us look lazy? Okay, forget about that. Let's talk the decathlon. This competition consists of ten track and field events, taking place over two days. Day one is today. Keep your eyes on American Ashton Eaton who set the world record for the decathlon in June and is looking to be the next Bruce Jenner.

Taekwondo
The action kicks off in the morning with the women's 49kg and the men's 58kg rounds. Four Americans are competing, and all of them managed to draw former world champions as their first bout opponents. It's going to be a tough battle to the gold which gets  handed out in the evening.

BMX
This is only the second Olympic appearance for BMX. The event promises to be fun to watch with a course made up of jumps, bumps, and tight corners. Early rounds kick off today.
