Jay Paulson Biography:

Jay Paulson’s career in acting began when, as a ninth-grade student, he missed the school bus and his friends convinced him to try out for his school’s production of Interview. Paulson was given the starring role, and when he stepped into high school, he kept on auditioning for plays and continued to be cast as the lead. His performance on a production of Once in a Lifetime got the attention of a talent scout, and Paulson has since then worked hard to build a professional acting career. His first big break in television came when he landed the role of “Sean” on the sitcom, Cybill. His other television credits include Battery Park, Studio 60, The West Wing, NYPD Blue and Just Shoot Me. In 2003, Paulson was seen on the critically acclaimed film Rolling Kansas. His other film projects are Go, Can’t Hardly Wait and Imaginary Heroes. Paulson, a graduate of UCLA with a degree in History, can be seen regularly on the ABC series, October Road.

Physical Phil is played by Jay Paulson on the show October Road. After the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Physical Phil, one of Nick’s high school friends, decided to take solace in the safety and comfort of his home. Even if he rarely goes outdoors, Physical Phil is the type of person who is very easy to love.
