Judd Hirsch
Judd Hirsch is probably best known for his portrayal of Alex Rieger in the classic television series "Taxi," a role that earned him two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series. Hirsch also starred as John Lacey in the series "Dear John," for which he won the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Comedy, before starring opposite Bob Newhart in the comedy series "George & Leo," on CBS. His feature film credits include "King of the Gypsies," "Ordinary People," which garnered him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor, "Without a Trace," "Teachers," "Independence Day" and "Man on the Moon." Judd plays the role of Allan Eppes in the CBS series "Numb3rs." Alan Eppes is the amiable father of Charlie and Don Eppes, and is particularly protective of his younger son, Charlie. He is a widower and retired city planner, but keeps busy by getting involved in the personal lives and careers of his sons as well as volunteering for causes he believes in. It makes him proud to see his sons working together. For much of the first two seasons, his wife's name was never mentioned in the show, though she was referred to on the set as Margaret. Recently he has been on his first date since his wife's death, with a caterer he's fond of, and has once more taken up work, investing in a consulting firm with Stan Fisher, which is related to "all his years in urban infrastructure." judd-hirsch-1.jpg judd-hirsch-2.jpg judd-hirsch-3.jpg judd-hirsch-4.jpg
