Check out a sneak peek of the sting operation:

According to Torres, Bishop almost blew their covers, but she argues that she was right to slap a guy's hand away, especially given her (detailed) backstory for her undercover persona. Soon after McGee finishes mirroring a suspect's cell, the guy receives a text to kill the person coming to him to buy drugs. Yes, intervening would mean blowing the op, but they can't let a murder happen. However, as Bishop and Torres approach the boat, it explodes.

See the team at the crime scene:

In the aftermath of the boat explosion, the team finds a heel on the dock and can't reach either Bishop or Torres, but fortunately, the body found isn't either of them. Plus, it didn't look like they had enough time to get to the boat before it blew. The boat's owner arrives at the scene and tells them he rented it to a "punk kid" the day before.
