Born on April 25, 1970 in Orange, California, Jason Lee went to Ocean View High School, however he did not graduate. Initially, he focused his career on skateboarding and became a prominent expert, able to do all sorts of tricks. He co-founded
Stereo Skateboards and was one of the first skateboarders to acquire a pro model shoe, produced by
Airwalk. His fame eventually brought him to the entertainment scene. As an actor, he was included in films like
Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Jersey Girl and
Clerks II.
Lee portrays Earl Hickey, the lead character on the comedy series
My Name is Earl. He depicts a jobless and good-for-nothing guy who got involved in a string of mischievous and felonious activities until he won $100,000 and found karma. His determination to correct his wrongdoings makes him a very endearing character, which the viewers can’t get enough of. Comically entertaining, he gets caught in a number of witty antics while he persists with his “list” of bad things. Furthermore, his inclusion on the show positively draws in spectators.
