Tonight,
Charmed actress
Alyssa Milano will begin her multi-episode arc on the NBC comedy series,
My Name is Earl. Contrary to what was previously reported, Milano's character is named Billie Cunningham, not Samantha. However, she
will be serving as a possible love interest for the show's protagonist, who is currently behind bars.
“I play Billie, who starts out as the girlfriend of Michael Rapaport's Frank, who is friends with Earl [
Jason Lee] in prison,” Milano, who is expected to appear in My
Name is Earl at least until December, told
TV Guide. “You sort of feel a connection between my character and Earl, but then they go their separate ways.”
In tonight's episode of
My Name is Earl, aptly entitled "Frank's Girl," Alyssa Milano's Billie goes to prison to pay Frank a conjugal visit. Frank, on the other hand, wants Earl to explain to Billie why he cannot see her. Things do not go according to plan, and Billie ends up ending her relationship with Frank because of Earl. Feeling responsible for the break-up, Earl vows to get the two back together.
However, Earl may have a difficult time carrying out his latest karmic task, especially when he continues to see Billie in a different light.
“Through a series of events and destiny, they bump into each other again, and her life [begins] running parallel to Earl's,” Milano told
TV Guide.
Milano, 34, is most known for her work on the supernatural drama,
Charmed. The show ended in 2006, after which Milano appeared in
The Blue Hour and shot a pilot for
Reinventing the Wheelers, a series that was not picked up by ABC.
My Name is Earl has Milano reuniting with Emmy award-winning actress
Jaime Pressly, who appeared as a guest star on
Charmed during its fifth season.
In addition to
My Name is Earl, Alyssa Milano will be appearing in a new film called
Pathology, scheduled for release on November 30. The movie also features
Milo Ventimiglia, most known for playing Peter Petrelli on NBC's
Heroes.
She is also working on a made-for-television movie called
Wisegal for Lifetime.
“[
Wisegal is] based on a true story about a woman who is widowed with two children, and in order to make ends meet, she gets caught up in the mob and winds up being in a position of power,” Milano explained.
