'Law and Order's Series Finale Won't Be Its Last?
'Law and Order's Series Finale Won't Be Its Last?
Despite the news of NBC swinging its dreaded axe on Law and Order, creator Dick Wolf isn't ready to let go just yet. Sources say that he's doing all that he can for the series to continue. Is 20 years of success not enough for him?

Law and Order Canceled by NBC

The Los Angeles Times reports that Dick Wolf himself released a statement regarding the fate of the show. Since he's still at odds with NBC, it's no surprise he came up with a rather cryptic message for the fans.

"The patient is not dead," the Law and Order head said. "It is in a medically induced coma, and we are hoping for a cure."

Despite his efforts though, do the fans even want more Law and Order? Dick Wolf doesn't mind producing more episodes. It's the networks that have a problem with it.

TNT Executives also had a comment regarding the continuation of the franchise, but weren't in talks to host the show once again. It's sticking to airing reruns though. Still, the network isn't "in ongoing discussions about picking up the series for first-run episodes."

TVSeriesFinale.com
also reports that NBC has considered going over the finances again, just to see if they can save the show. If that doesn't work and "other offers" haven't been accepted, then a movie might be in the works. Or something like that.

According to the source, a two-hour flick might just be what Law and Order needs to wrap up the whole series. The finale could leave the fans hanging, so it's only appropriate to give the show a fitting end. We'll just have to see how these negotiations work out.

Trivia: How Well Do You Know Law and Order?

That may take long, so it's better to enjoy Law and Order before the show shuts down for good. There are still reruns, and that's 20 years worth of episodes to go through. Unless Dick Wolf pulls through and gets the show going every week again.
