Previously on Kid Nation: Bonanza City held a talent show, and some girl named Kennedy made a total fool of herself. Not only did it convince fellow Kentuckian Savannah to stay, but it won her the Gold Star. Divad slowly steamed, and if this were a movie, she would be the Bond villain, hatching a master plan to become the ruler of the world.

Laurel is crowing that half the Gold Stars have gone to members of the green district.  The green team parties about how sexy they are with their Gold Stars, and Jared laments that it's unfair.  The Magic Journal tells the Town Council to mix up the districts.  Zach thinks it's a good idea (of course he does, he has Taylor on his team), but Laurel doesn't like it, because she wants to consolidate her power.

The Town Council gets together to divide the kids.  Anjay wants a challenge, while Guylan wants smart and strong people.  Zach wants some hard workers like Greg and Blaine, but Anjay suggests splitting them up.  Laurel is refusing to trade any of her district members because they're super friends.  She says she doesn't need to change things, which means she's really missing the entire point of this task.

At a meeting, the Town Council announce the changes to a chorus of boos.  Guylan gets Nathan, while the blue team gets Emilie as a replacement.  That's what statisticians call a zero-sum game.  Zach takes Blaine, and Greg is furious.  Not helping things is when Laurel announces no changes for her team, which Greg calls unfair.  He's right, but Laurel doesn't seem to care.  As they move in, no one is happy.  Everyone on the red team yells at Guylan because they don't want Nathan there.  Jared threatens both impeachment and assassination.

The biggest problem is that they didn't really change the districts.  The Magic Jounral meant for them to totally shake everything up, which would've been fine.  But when you handpick three specific people to move around, it doesn't change the town in any substantial way, it just ticks everyone off.

Hunter (who?) reads some Bible verses and Mike feels bad for yelling at Guylan.  Meanwhile, Greg is vowing that if Anjay insults him again, the leader will be getting a knuckle sandwich.  Olivia rags on him, and the entire blue team is regretting the decision to re-elect Anjay.  They make him cry.

Kid Nation Showdown!  The task is quite simple: teams must load mining carts with rocks and go through an obstacle course.  Combined, the reward is given if all four teams get one ton of rocks across.  The challenge is: do you go with no rocks and finish quickly to become upper class, or do you carry your weight for the greater good?

Guylan is focused on the reward, while Taylor just wants to go and get upper class.  Blue goes first, followed by yellow.  Of course, Greg and Blaine are tasked with pulling.  Green tries to go, but it's too heavy.  They lighten in a bit, and afterwards, red finally starts.  Blue and yellow are in the lead, thanks to Greg and Blaine pulling far more than their weight.  For the 10th time this episode, Blaine talks about finally being out of Greg's shadow.  Blue wins, and Anjay is upset that maybe they didn't carry their weight.  Yellow gets second.  Green takes third, and red is way behind for last.

Now to weigh out the rocks!  Blue has 480 pounds, which is almost one quarter, so good for them.  Yellow has 460 pounds.  Green has just 420 pounds, which makes it sad that they were stlll third.  Red has just 485, which may be the most, but isn't enough to win the reward.  Obviously, the blue team kicked major butt, not only finishing first, but also for pulling almost as much weight as the red team.  Guylan blames everyone else for not caring enough about the reward and Sophia says something nasty to him that everyone cheers.  Hey, Laurel wouldn't even change any of her team, so why are you surprised people care more about their district than the town as a whole.  This is why the teams needed to be totally shaken up, to avoid loyalty to a district over loyalty to Bonanza City.

At night, Zach and a bunch of other guys are outside mocking the kids who are crying about missing their families.  The next morning, Hunter wakes up at 6am to start cleaning.  Laurel is eying him, another green district member, for a Gold Star, and says maybe the reason he hasn't won yet is because he's overshadowed by all the other amazing green district members.  Man, she is so full of herself and her team, and much as I like a lot of them, they need to be broken up to be taken off their pedestals.

Meanwhile, Blaine is going around, waking up the lazy yellow team and assigning them tasks.  Blaine really is shining on his own.  Randi (who?) is crying about wanting to go home, and Greg arrives to carry her and put her to bed.  Taylor is there, staring, and she totally has a crush on Greg.  It's kind of cute.

The Town Council once again asks the town who should get a Gold Star.  Blaine and Hunter get all the votes.

Kid Nation Town Hall Meeting!  Blaine stands up to say how fair it is that he and Greg are no longer together.  Greg gets up to bash Anjay, saying Mallory is more of a man than he is.  Laurel crows about how awesome her district is, and even her team is a bit annoyed by her attitude.  Randi raises her hand to go home, and just then, it begins to rain.  She goes, and I bet if the Town Council was planning on giving her the Gold Star they'd have convinced her to stay.  Taylor cries and blames Zach for letting her best friend go.  As soon as Randi leaves, the rain stops.  Freaky.  The Gold Star goes to...Blaine!  Awesome.  The Beavis to Greg's Butthead wins, and Laurel says she loves his hair.  Uh oh, is she mind cheating on DK (her imaginary Bonanza City boyfriend).

Blaine is the only person happy with the Town Council.  Since everyone else hates them, it's time for another election.  Kids are asked to raise their hands if they want to run.  DK, Blaine and Greg all want to run, and as for the green district...Michael is running!  To be continued...

Next week on Kid Nation: re-election time, and then people start to air their dirty laundry.  Sophia thinks it's a Nazi regime.
