It's been some time since we had any updates on Kevin, Nick and Joe Jonas but that doesn't mean that they're yesterday's news. In fact, the music trio has just been named as host to the 2009 Teen Choice Awards, airing Monday, August 10 at 8pm on FOX. Moreover, they will also perform during the big event.

This year marks the 11th annual Teen Choice Awards, which aims to pay tribute to the year's hottest teen icons in film, television, music, sports and fashion. The first wave of nominations for categories such as Choice Breakout TV Show, Choice Hottie and Choice Breakout Artist, as well as the additional performers and presenters, will be announced in the next few weeks.

And while an official list of nominations has not yet been released, it's probably a safe bet to assume that the Jonas Brothers will be nominated for a few of the surfboard trophies as well.

The Jonas Brothers immediately became a pop music sensation with the release of their platinum-selling albums "Jonas Brothers" and "A Little Bit Longer." Last year, they headlined two tours that earned the band a spot among the top-selling tours of the year. They also won an American Music Award for Breakthrough Artist, and were recently nominated for a Grammy in the Best New Artist category.

Next month, the Jonas Brothers will be gracing the small screen as the stars of the new Disney Channel series J.O.N.A.S.!, which follows a band of three brothers who have to cope with being rockstars while trying to live an ordinary life.

The Jonas Brothers' appearance on the 2009 Teen Choice Awards will happen in the midst of their world tour, which takes the band across three continents, including three nights at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The U.S. leg of the tour kicks off June 20, following the release of their highly anticipated "Lines, Vines and Trying Times" album, set to be released worldwide on June 15.
