The circle of life is complete. The same week Snooki gave birth to her first son, MTV has announced that it is cancelling the reality series that spawned Snooki, Jersey Shore, after its upcoming sixth season.

The Situation, DJ Pauly D and the rest of the greased up juiceheads and Guidettes will say arrivederci to New Jersey starting Thursday, October 4 at 10pm.

Jersey Shore joins a long list of shows coming to an end this fall, a list that includes Gossip Girl, Fringe, 30 Rock and The Office. Of course mentioning Jersey Shore in the same sentence as those other shows might be a federal offense punishable by death.

However will we live without the Situations abs or a constant stream of GTL? Only time will tell. Luckily for fans of New Jersey, MTV is continuing with the spinoff Snooki and JWoww that promises to follow Snooki into motherhood.

What will you miss most about Jersey Shore?
