'Jericho' Experiences Ratings Drop During its Second Week Back
In an effort to attract more viewers to the drama series, Jericho, CBS began airing rerun episodes of the show on July 6.  The network started off with the pilot episode, which earned a modest 3.2/6 rating share, placing them at the top spot of the 9pm timeslot.  However, last week's run, which comprised of back-to-back episodes from the first season, failed to beat its competitors.

CBS started off with the special Jericho recap episode at 8pm.  During the previous season, the recap episode was used as a way to help bring viewers up to speed through the first twelve episodes.  According to Zap2it, the re-airing of the recap episode last Friday only earned a 2.1/4 rating, which placed the network behind the CW, FOX, ABC and NBC, which won that hour with 1 vs. 100.

The second Jericho rerun did slightly better in the 9pm timeslot.  According to the Fast Nationals from the Nielsen Media Research, the show earned a 2.4/6 ratings share.  The show jumped from fifth to third place, trailing behind the second hour of the CW’s Friday Night Smackdown! and a rerun of Las Vegas on NBC.  FOX and ABC lagged behind with episodes of Standoff and Greek, respectively.

Overall, NBC was the big winner last Friday night.  The crime drama, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, earned the network a 4.1/8 ratings share during the 10pm timeslot.  Consequently, NBC averaged a 3.5/ 7, topping ABC’s 2.8/5, CBS and the CW’s 2.7/5, and FOX’s 2.3/5.

In the adults 18-49 demographic, the CW took first place with a 1.4 rating.  ABC and NBC ended up sharing second place with 1.3, while FOX took fourth place with a 1.0.  CBS trailed behind with a mere 0.8.

As with BuddyTV's ratings report on July 9, it is important to note that since all numbers are based on fast national data, viewers can expect for changes on some or all numbers when final ratings are issued.
