USA Network has pushed up the premiere of its latest original series
In Plain Sight. The police procedural drama, which stars
Mary McCormack, is now kicking off tonight at 10/9c, serving as a lead-out to
Law & Order: Criminal Intent, which returns on June 8 at 9/8c.
The latest shift in the debut schedule of
In Plain Sight marks the third start date set by the network. The show was originally set to launch on April 24, before it was delayed to air on June 8 and finally scheduled to broadcast tonight.
In Plain Sight revolves around Mary Shannon (McCormack), a United States marshal working in the highly secretive branch of the witness protection program, which relocates federal witnesses. These witnesses consist of career criminals and many people who are innocent that had the misfortune of witnessing a crime. One thing common they have is that someone wants them dead and it's Mary's job to see that this doesn't happen.
While Mary finds ways to deal with her professional life of protecting witnesses, she must also attempt to manage her own dysfunctional family. She's not alone, though. Helping her out is partner Marshall Mann, who assists her in her assignments and serves as her foil.
In addition to McCormack (
The West Wing),
In Plain Sight stars
Frederick Weller (
Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Life in Flight) as Marshall Mann. Also featured on the series are Ann Warren (
Desperate Housewives, Will & Grace),
Nichole Hiltz (
NYPD Blue, Strong Medicine),
Paul Ben-Victor (
The Wire, Entourage),
Cristian de la Fuente (
Dancing with the Stars, Side Order of Life, Ugly Betty), and
Todd Williams (
Tilt, Third Watch).
In Plain Sight is created and written by David Maples (
Home Improvement), who serves as executive producer alongside Paul Stupin (
Dawson's Creek, Beautiful People).
