I Love New York: Cheezy Dishes on the Reunion

Cheezy might not have been the clearest front-runner for New York's (Tiffany Pollard's) heart on I Love New York, but he was an entertaining addition to the cast of muscle men for the viewers at home. He, of course, took part in the recent reunion show and shared his perspective in participating in that event.

Cheezy told Page Six that “it was like just one big, happy family getting back together. An extremely dysfunctional family, but we all have a common bond.”

One common bond that many of the men had was hating on Tailor Made. Although Cheezy seems to have kept the peace and stayed on decent terms with almost everyone – even Tailor Made. However, he's also kept up with Mr. Wise, and so he had some insight into Mr. Wise's amazing leap and attempt to beat up on Tailor Made.

“Mr. Wise had a big problem,” said Cheezy. “Something I had to learn recently is the term ‘street cred.' Which I had no idea what it meant, and I talked to Tailor Made about it recently too. Why Wise is still upset. Apparently if you have bad street cred it is not good for when you walk outside your house if you're in a hood or ghetto. If you have bad street cred, you're not as trusted, you're looked down upon, and Wise had bad street cred because he didn't hit Tailor Made. And apparently it's a huge deal.” Ergo, Cheezy says, he had to attempt to get at Tailor Made in order to redeem his reputation.

And as to how that all went down?

“Wise is a smart guy,” Cheezy said. “He knew that producers were going to be watching his every move on camera so he waited until the clip reel and when the audience was watching that, that's when he jumped up in the middle of everything, because he knew everyone else's attention was on the screen.”

Cheezy has said that Buddha has helped him out with some advice for getting the ladies, and Buddha took that very moment to offer up some wisdome. “Right after [Mr. Wise] did that, I was sitting next to Buddha and he goes, do you want to have every girl throw themselves at you for the rest of your life? I was like, that would be cool. And he said, right now, while they're throwing Wise out, you go beat up on Tailor Made.”

Cheezy's cooler head prevailed in that situation though. He said, “I sat there for a good minute, and then I was like, ahhh, I didn't think it would really be in character for me.”

Although he doesn't seem to mind having been cast in a somewhat goofy light on I Love New York, he did have one thing to clarify.

“There is a scene on our date," he said, "where there is a clip of me saying ‘To show her the man I can be, I have to show her I can be sexy,' then it shows me blatantly taking down my boxer shorts and mooning New York and It as she gives a disgusted look. The way it was edited and what REALLY took place are two different things. For one thing, I would NEVER just decide that mooning someone would be a sexy move at all. What really happened was that New York and I had just got out of our photo shoot. She came back and told It how she just beat my ass. She then told me to show It how black and blue my bruised butt was. I refused to at first cause I didn't want to show another guy my ass, but when I saw the infamous New York temper about to rise, I decided to follow her order. I pulled my boxers down and my ass was red and purple and just completely bruised up. THAT'S why New York was giving a disgusted face.”

With that cleared up, Cheezy is happy to say that he's working on some potential spin-offs from I Love New York (he's alluded to the possibility that there could be a Charm School for dudes), but he's also content to consider a career behind the scenes if that doesn't pan out.
