On tonight's season premiere of How I Met Your Mother
, things picked right up where season 3 left off - with Ted proposing to Stella at the arcade. He can't help but imagine all of the ways that she'll reject him but she surprises him with an emotional "Yes". It's not that Marshall isn't happy for his buddy Ted, but it seems that he doesn't know his fiance very well. He can't say what her hobbies are, what he favorite color is, or even what color her eyes are. Ted is blindly in love and doesn't seem to care that he doesn't know Stella that well. That is, until he cooks her dinner one night. When he used peanuts as the secret ingredient to his pesto sauce, Stella falls right off of her chair, suffering a serious allergic reaction.
How I Met Your Mother is available on Amazon Prime.
Barney is freaking out. FREAKING OUT, I tell you. He is head over heels, madly in love with Robin and he doesn't know what to do about it. He calls Lily over to his apartment to try to figure out what to do. She suggests letting Robin know how he really feels but of course, that would be too easy. Barney tries to call her but panics, makes a bunch of girly noises, and hangs up. She calls back but he can't bring himself to say what he needs to. The two meet up for dinner but Robin is completely thrown off by Barney saying, "D ... wait for it ... lightful. Delightful." instead of legendary, refusing to stare at a woman's breasts, and asking about her day.
Marshall strongly feels that Ted can't marry Stella unless she likes the movie Star Wars
. The two sit down to watch the movie but she's grabbing beers, trying to kiss him, and just not pay attention. When she realizes how important the movie is to him, she banishes him to his room so that she can concentrate on the movie. Marshall, who has been hiding behind the couch, is also sent to Ted's room. Stella returns 121 minutes later to let Ted know that she loves the movie. Ted leaves the room to find something to celebrate with and she tells Marshall that she actually hated it. She promises him though, that for the rest of her life, she'll pretend to like it.
Robin throws Barney off when she tries to set him up with their waitress and act as his wingwoman. She leaves the two alone, after telling the waitress that he's the new second baseman for the Yankees. Barney comes clean and says that he is in love with the girl who just left. Later, he retells the story to Lily who says that it will only take a little time. She punches him when she sees the waitress coming out of his bedroom. He promised not to sleep with anyone else but he says that he wants to choose bimbos over being in love. If there's one thing Barney loves, it's bimbos.
When Lily storms out, Barney puts on the tv and watches Robin report the news. You can't fool us, Stinson.
