'House' Recap: 'Man of the House' and Speaker of the House
'House' Recap: 'Man of the House' and Speaker of the House
The fake marriage thing for Greg House wasn't my favorite storyline and the patient plot tonight seemed to drag a little. That said, I always still love this show -- for House's little sarcastic barbs and just for the team's medical brainstorming sessions, even though I really don't have a clue as to all the doctor shop talk sometimes.

Faltered Speech

In the opening of House tonight, a man speaking about the sexes and that men shouldn't act like "dinosaurs" to women today -- whatever that means exactly! -- starts to get hoarse. The sips of water he takes on stage don't help and soon he passes right out and an ambulance is called. Cue the House theme music and credits!

The team gathers to figure out this latest case while House jokes about the (juvenille) meaning of "needing a number two."

Bathroom Humor

House's bathroom related jokes are peppered throughout tonight's episode. Just when the speaker is all dressed and ready to go home, he pees his pants with his wife standng there. This happens when Taub gave the patient a shot of testosterone to help with the speaker's bedroom problems at home.

Later, after a phone rings during a brainstorming session, House quips that it may sound like a phone, but really it's a timer to tell him when to pee. Not funny, but well, that's classic House. I do laugh when House notes that the speaker patient "sprung a leak."

Fake Wife Humor

Dominka and House are set to convince Immigration that they are a real couple. The whole team gets involved at different times to coach them -- that is, in between trying to solve the case of the speaker. Wilson also tries to talk House out of going through with the farce, but I laugh at House's reply: "This is what men do for the wives they pretend to love." Ha ha!

Dr. Wilson, I Presume

Wilson pretends to be a neighbor of House's heading back to his apartment when the Immigration investigator is leaving after a smooth interview with House and Dominka. It almost works with Wilson's fake British accent and all as he tells the inspector that he often sees the couple out and about. Just then, though, they're busted as the real tenant comes home!

Fake Love Saves the Day

After Dominka talks his ear off, the man from Immigration decides to give the fake couple a break. He warns them that there will be future unannounced checks, though, and at that time they'd better be together on the couch sharing ice cream on the same spoon.

Taub and House Solve the Case

When House spies Taub watching the speaker's speeches for any medical clues, he teases him at first. Then they end up watching them together and see a pattern of hoarseness. This is enough for House to tie in Adams' and Taub's diagnosis of celiac disease to come up with the answer. Of course, the patient is now saved! His wife has the nerve to ask about the sexual problems and, well, House can't guarantee a happy wife and speaker of the house there.

How did you like House tonight?
