Hulk Hogan to Create His Own Wrestling Federation

Professional wrestler and TV Star Hulk HoganHulk Hogan, professional wrestler and star of VH1's Hogan Knows Best, shocked the wrestling community recently when he announced he has already raised a portion of the money he needs to start his own wrestling federation, which he promises will be much grander than anything anyone has ever seen before.

“If I can do what I want to do in the next few months then this will be bigger than anything ever done before in wrestling,” Hogan told The Sun last week.  “You've seen WrestleMania, the nWo, UFC, steel cages, PPV - but this is something completely different again.”

The 54-year-old Hogan Knows Best star also criticized WWE Chairman and former friend Vince McMahon, and said that the federation has been unable to present the artistic value of the sport.

“[The WWE] lacks stars, it lacks consistency, it lacks quality story lines and it lacks anybody that understands the art form,” Hulk Hogan told The Sun.  “Everybody's out there wrestling like a robot.”

Hogan's relationship with McMahon broke down following a series a disagreements regarding the wrestling star's payoffs.  At last year's SummerSlam, Hogan was expecting to be part of the main event, but instead was scheduled fourth on the roster with wrestler Randy Orton.  Nevertheless, he went on with the show, and, judging by the audience's reaction, felt assured he would be compensated well.  However, the figure on the check proved disappointing.

“I swore I would never talk about the money again with Vince because that's what we always argue about but when I saw the amount, it was like one of my driver's pay cheques so I had to say something,” Hogan said, adding that McMahon attributed the small payoff to the rather large number of big-time wrestlers performing on the show.

Recently, McMahon had female wrestler Jillian Hall portray a character of a terrible blond singer, an obvious mockery of Hogan's daughter, Brooke, whose journey to musical stardom is one of the major storylines in Hogan Knows Best.

“I haven't seen it myself but people have told me about it,” Hulk Hogan said of the act. “It's the lowest thing you can do.  Like talking bad about someone in high school.  If I have a problem with someone I talk about them.  I don't pick on their kids.  So if that's what [McMahon's] doing then he's desperate and defeatable.”
