I wasn't the type to root for either Troy or Gabriella when forced to watch High School Musical. Other than the villainous Sharpay, it was the quiet but conniving Kelsi who made the movie bearable for me. It wasn't just because of her hats too, but that was a plus.
Anyway, Olesya Rulin, best known for her role in the hugely popular Disney franchise, has landed yet another film role to push her career forward. She's set to appear on the upcoming drama The Christmas Movie, set to hit cinemas next year. The actress discussed her role with ET Online, even giving us a sneak peek of the scenes they'll be filming.
The Christmas Movie follows the tale of a pregnant teenager who has run away, only to end up in a trailer park in New Mexico. Her privileged background has hindered her from living a full life, but she finds the true meaning of love and the importance of family once she starts her modest existence far from home.
Joining
High School Musical's Olesya Rulin is Cloris Leachman and her pet pigs, along with actress Linda Gray. The film was written and directed by Dan Gordon, responsible for the screenplay of
Passenger 57 and
Wyatt Earp.
Olesya Rulin told the publication about how excited she was to work on
The Christmas Movie, and how fortunate she's been in working with such co-stars. "I'm so blessed to be around these actors," she said. "They're teaching me so much every single day. Linda [Gray] alone has taught me so much on camera and off camera. I'm having a great time."
Here's the sneak peek of
The Christmas Movie below. It's definitely no
High School Musical, and maybe that's a good thing. Can I just say the fake gunshot sound and the winged bovines amuse me greatly?
