"Mariah is eager to capitalise on her acclaimed performance in Precious," the source revealed.  "She would play one half of a mother and daughter singing duo who audition for a TV talent show."

The 40-year-old Grammy Award-winning artist was recently seen on the 2009 film Precious, alongside other acclaimed musicians.  She starred with Mo'Nique and Lenny Kravitz, together with actresses Gabourey Sidibe and Paula Patton.

Now, Carey may just be making her way to playing mom to Vanessa Hudgens, who will certainly appreciate the honor.  That is, if they get Mariah to sign up.  The role she's being assigned to isn't exactly something that you can wrap your head around.  Mommy Mariah?  It's unheard of.

"Vanessa Hudgens has been approached," the insider went on.  "The only sticking point is if Mariah feels comfortable playing mom to a teenager."

We can't really imagine her being a mother to anyone, exactly.  Still, there hasn't been any confirmation on either party accepting the roles.  The project is currently being kept under wraps, and it seems like it won't see the light of day soon.  There's plenty of time to cast someone else as Vanessa Hudgens mom, even though they won't have the appeal of Mariah Carey herself.

Aside from negotiations for this upcoming movie, High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens has been busy with legal matters.  E! Online has reported that she is suing the owners of the Moejackson.com website for posting nude photos of her.  The scandal seems far from over, and here we are just hoping she'd just stick to movies.
