Gail O’Grady was born on January 23. 1963 in Detroit, Michigan and was raised in Wheaton, Illinois. She finished schooling in Wheaton North High School in 1981 and launched her public career in 1987’s Pepsi commercial entitled Apartment 10G, alongside Michael J. Fox. Her first major appearance on a series, however, was in NYPD Blue where she played Donna Abandonado for three years, from 1993 to 1996. She received an Emmy award nomination (Outstanding Supporting Actress in a drama series) for each year that she played that role. Hidden Palms . Karen Hardy is the mother of Johnny Miller, the troubled son who endured the suicide of his father and the remarriage of his mother to Bob, the new husband, by turning to drugs and alcohol. He is later placed in a rehabilitation center for recovery.
