'Heroes' Star Gets Candie's
'Heroes' Star Gets Candie's
Last Wednesday, Iconix Brand Group, Inc. announced that actress Hayden Panettiere, known for her portrayal of regenerating cheerleader Claire Bennett on NBC's Heroes, will be featured Candie's' Spring 2008 multi-media advertising and marketing campaign for Kohl's Department Stores.  The 18-year-old actress succeeds the likes of such celebrity models as Grammy winner Fergie, Hilary Duff (Lizzie McGuire) and Destiny's Child.

"I am excited to be working with Candie's,” Panettiere said.  “Their campaigns are fun and playful and always feature the hottest stars.  I am honored to be the new Candie's 'girl' and I look forward to working with them on lots of exciting projects.

Candie's Chief Marketing Office Dari Marder said that the Heroes star “personifies” what the company looks for in a spokesmodel.

“Hayden is not only talented and beautiful but also funny and irreverent,” Marder said, “and our Candie's customer loves her."

Hayden Panettiere's Candie's campaign was shot at Serendipity 3 in New York City by Giuliano Bekor.  The actress is expected to make personal appearances for the brand.  Just recently, she attended Candie's latest campaign party held at Hyde nightclub.  Heroes co-star and reported boyfriend Milo Ventimiglia was also present at the event.

The Candie's campaign is not the only thing that consumed her recent strike-imposed break. Panettiere also resumed work on her debut album, a project that she started when she was 15 years old.

"I've grown up a lot since I started," she told MTV.

She has also been working on an upcoming movie called Fireflies in the Garden, which co-stars Academy Award winner Julia Roberts and Ryan Reynolds (Two Guys and a Girl). Panettiere appears as the younger version of Emily Watson's character.

"My mom always says you don't know you've done a film until you're sitting in the movie theater watching it, so I get a little nervous saying anything!” Hayden Panettiere said.

Both the movie and her debut album are due out later this year.  Meanwhile, Heroes is returning with a 22-episode third season in the fall.
