Last we saw the Heroes, Primatech was burning down with Sylar (Zachary Quinto) inside, and Nathan was meeting with the President to discuss pressing national security issues.

Now, at the beginning of their newest chapter, “Fugitives,” we find that not much has changed. Traci (Ali Larter) watches Nathan on TV as he gives an interview about his new measures as the Chairman on the Senate Commission for Homeland Security, and he makes vague claims about protecting America from dangerous people. We find out that it's been two months since Traci talked to Nathan (Adrian Pasdar). She sees that a window in her apartment is open, and suddenly lots of men in full-on black SWAT gear come in and take her down with a taser. Turns out Traci's one of the bad people Nathan was talking about. The head hero hunter calls it in: “Tell Petrelli we got the first one.”

Hiro (Masi Oka) bought an old fire station for his and Ando's (James Kyson Lee) secret lair, and bought Ando a spandex super-charger-hero costume. Ando says he's no superhero, until he sees his other present: the Ando-cycle. Hiro equips Ando with GPS by giving him a surprise shot in the arm, and a pissed off Ando rides off into the night on his new hog.

Peter is now a paramedic, and a frustrated one as he loses another car accident victim. He can't save everyone, and he's not okay with that. He wants to be stronger.

Meanwhile, Claire and Angela (Cristine Rose) talk about colleges. Angela's putting Claire up at the request of H.R.G., who wants her to have a normal life. Claire's convinced that Sylar is still alive and killing again. She vows that if no one else believes it, she'll go find him herself.

Turns out that Claire's right: Sylar's alive and kicking in Baltimore. He goes to a clock shop and confronts his deadbeat dad, who makes no apologies for leaving Sylar and his mother. Sylar eventually asks the big question: he wants to know who his real father is. The clockmaker tells Sylar he was given to them by a man who needed money—the clockmaker's brother. He gives Sylar an address, and Sylar's skull-slicing finger twitches a little as he walks out.

Parkman (Greg Grunberg) scolds Daphne for using her powers to make efficient mail deliveries. He's working as a bodyguard, not using his mind-reading powers. They need to stay under the radar and lead normal lives, he says, as he has fleeting hallucinations of African Isaac. Daphne agrees to slow down to human speed.

Angela's on the phone to Nathan, warning him that Claire's not sitting out quietly. Claire overhears and picks up the other receiver, hears a bit about a plan to get Peter and Parkman, and storms out as Angela looks on. “I think we have a bigger problem now,” she tells Nathan.

Peter's paramedic partner asks him about seeing Nathan, who's in town. After listenin to Nathan's fear-mongering rhetoric, the Iranian paramedic is scared for his family. Claire calls Peter, tells him that Nathan and Angela are up to something, and she's on her way to warn Parkman. Peter gets into Mohinder's cab, and they chat about acting normal and staying under the radar. Mohinder agrees with Nathan that unrestricted powers are dangerous.

Mohinder drops off Peter and picks up the head hero hunter, who leads him to a trap of more hero hunters. Mohinder manages to escape using his super strength, and H.R.G. pulls up and picks him up. He asks Mohinder if he's seen or talked to any other heroes before delivering him right back to the taser-happy guys in black. Guess we know whose side Noah Bennet's on.

Are you surprised Sylar's alive?
Not really... it's Sylar.
Yes, I was sure the fire got him.
No, but I wish he wasn't.
