Heroes: Parkman learned Daphne is still alive after exploring HRG's mind. Mohinder was taken by the Hunter, but the others escaped. While the Hunter grew suspicious of Nathan, he should be more focused on HRG, who is secretly working with Angela.
Claire (Hayden Panettiere) is still hiding her hot new Aquaman friend Alex in her closet. I haven’t seen a nerd this hunky since Tobey Maguire bulked up for
Spider-Man. She wants him to leave town, but he’s freaked out and doubts whether a little teenage girl knows what’s best for him. Mrs. Bennet shows up wanting to know who stole the money she hides in Mr. Muggles’ shoe. Yes, the triumphant return of Mr. Muggles!
Mrs. Bennet hears a noise and finds a hot boy in her daughter’s closet. Claire tries to lie by claiming that Alex is her boyfriend with whom she has lots of sex. Mrs. Bennet doesn’t buy it, so they come clean about his underwater breathing power.
Claire’s mom is annoyed at first, but she’s willing to help because she’s smarter than anyone thinks and knows that the government is outside watching her. She takes her son Lyle’s driver’s license and manipulates it to make a fake I.D. for Alex. This causes her to reminisce about her youthful rebellion trying to sex up rock stars. I’m guessing there’s an amazing
Heroes spin-off about Mrs. Bennet and Mr. Muggles.
After talking about the possibility of her parents getting divorced, Claire goes upstairs to find Alex in the process of changing. I feel confident in saying that a guy with a body like that has never read a comic book in his lifetime. Their potential kiss is interrupted when the agents rush in, so Mrs. Bennet hides Alex in a secret compartment in her pantry.
That night, Mrs. Bennet sets a diversion for the agents so Claire and Alex can run out the back. The agents catch up to them, so the two heroes hide at the bottom of a neighbor’s pool. Just as Claire can’t take it any more, Alex uses his super-powered lungs to save her by making a tight seal around her mouth with his. An underwater kiss? That is very hot.
Alex escapes, but Claire returns home. She and her mom bond, but when Claire runs downstairs to get popcorn, she sees a familiar face. It’s Eric Doyle, the super creepy puppet master who tortured the heck out of Claire and her two mommies in the last volume. It turns out he got a text message from Rebel claiming Claire would save him. Rebel has one twisted sense of humor.
