Whether it's on Twitter, Facebook or some fan-made campaign sites, loyal Heroes supporters are desperately trying to save the troubled NBC series. And all their efforts have seemingly increased now that the show has wrapped up its fourth season, which earned mostly unpleasant reviews.

With no new episodes left to watch, fans are aiming to get "Heroes trending" across the internet, hoping that NBC renews the series and allows Heroes to reach to its 100th episode. While ratings obviously play a big role in the show's renewal, that's not going to happen considering the low numbers. Monday's finale alone pulled off just around 4 million viewers, which is considerably far from the 16.93 million viewers the series once attracted. However, if and when the show reaches 100 episodes, then it might be considered a potential series for syndicated reruns. And at the end of the day, that still means profit for network executives.

On the other hand, Heroes prolonging its agony for yet another season is quite a scary thought. Aside from the terrible ratings, there are four more reasons why NBC should cancel the series which you can learn more about in this article. Bottom-line is it really doesn't matter if we prevent the network from pulling the plug on Heroes because what really needs to be done is to save Heroes from itself.
