Last night, Gordon Ramsay returned to TV (er, for the second time this summer) with an all-new season of
Hell's Kitchen. The kitchen competition is nothing if not consistent for FOX, and it premiered with a hefty 2.5 Nielsen rating for adults 18-49. Ramsay's other show on FOX,
MasterChef, was steady versus last week. Elsewhere,
The Bachelorette was hitting a season low, and
Extreme Makeover: Weight-Loss Edition was inching up.
Let's take a look at the numbers.
FOX won the night with adults 18-49, but lost in pure viewership to ABC. Still,
Hell's Kitchen premiered to a viewership of 5.76 million. And
MasterChef was consistent, with a rating of 2.3 for adults 18-49 and a total viewership of 5.55 million. With the one-two punch of Gordon Ramsay's two programs, FOX had its best summer Monday evening since 2008.
ABC's
The Bachelorette was taken down a peg by
Hell's Kitchen. It was down 15% to a season low, with an 18-49 rating of 2.4 and a total viewership of 7.99 million. Last night saw Ashley select her final three. As
The Bachelorette draws to a close, can it recover any of its numbers?
