'Hart of Dixie' Recap: Doctor-Lawyer Tag Team
'Hart of Dixie' Recap: Doctor-Lawyer Tag Team
On tonight's Hart of Dixie, Zoe and George Tucker team up to help a loony schoolteacher after he had been fired from an "extraterrestrial" outing. Zoe debates whether or not to tell George of Lemon and Lavon's former extracurriculars.

The Case

Aliens are trying to talk to an actor/teacher. This is honestly a case in Bluebell this week for the joined forces of ... Zoe and George Tucker!

You know, I was just thinking how this show was pitched about this Zoe Hart trying to be a doctor. Not George Tucker and his law practice. Seriously, I think we have seen more lawyer cases than doctor lately. But then these cases join together and instantly, I want THIS to be the show. Doctors and lawyers unite!

This weird case of the week is that the teacher thinks he has extraterrestrial implants causing him to be ill; his ramblings get him fired. Really, he has lead poisoning from a Mexican tattoo with his cuckoo wife's name. Love kills y'all (he didn't die, but that was more poignant than "love almost kills"). Whatever the silly case (and this was a silly case), I want this unification to happen.

Because of this, I am sure: George Tucker, I still love you with Zoe. I know everyone loves her and Wade -- as they rightfully should! -- but perhaps I'm a purist on the eve of Valentine's Day. I just want them to get together on some level. Preferably a romantic one when his marriage/wedding with Lemon inevitably fails. Even though he adores Lemon, I want the show to explore it.

George Tucker assumes Zoe's weird about the save-the-date things. If I was George, I'd think Zoe was sad because we have mad chemistry! Not me and Zoe ... but George and Zoe.

Of course, this will fail since George and Lemon are going to elope. But that's next week's recap.

Lavon, I Love You

Lavon hasn't had much to do of late (excluding last week's thing). But this week, he is the main source of conflict, the thing this show has been building to all season: someone finding out about his affair with Lemon.

Granted, it is his girlfriend, Didi. I don't know which reason to feel sorry for her: that she found out her beau is kind of in love with Satan in satin, or that she believes the lie Zoe tells her or that she is so sincerely comforting at Zoe's admission of "Lemon love." In Didi's defense, Zoe's clothing does give an occasional lesbian vibe. Mini leather skirt. Amirite?

So Zoe must awkwardly avoid George Tucker while working on the joint doctor-lawyer thing while sorting out this information. Finally, Lavon admits they were in love (or at least he was).

Lemon cheated on George with Lavon for six weeks. But I feel like there is more to the story: Why did George come home so suddenly and propose? Also, why did Lemon say yes? I need a flashback episode!

I felt for Zoe here; this is a tough place in between other people's drama when she hadn't even met them. But really, my heart goes out to Lavon, the solid straight man with little lovable idiosyncrasies. He really just told how much it hurts to see Lemon happy with another man while he can't get over her. Lemon's love for Lavon might not be clear, but mine should be.

A Bromance In Its Own Right

Joelle set some dude's lawn on fire, and she has a warrant for arrest. Because Wade is attracted to crazy chicks, Zoe Hart included. The only one he seems immune to is his best friend's girl.

Luckily, Wade and Lemon are about to interact. See, Lemon needs a break from planning, a day off to let loose. "Day off from what?" Wade, you literally took the words out of my notes.

Wade actually always acts as my brain; I live vicariously through him on the show. Wade enlists Lemon to pose as the hot Joelle to solve everyone's problem (even the lacking plot!). And my response? Absolutely positutely.

Drunk Lemon chews gum, shakes her mini-skirt, dances wildly as a skank; she's officially my favorite Lemon. Wade is trying to manage the drunken Lemon so his head isn't on a skillet. The roles of the characters we've come to love have reversed. I know that this is a friendship, but it feels so much more than a bromance than the one we have seen recently. Lemon is such a bro lately.
