Hannah Montana star
Miley Cyrus has been the center of some minor controversies in the last few weeks. Photos of her in her underwear and playfully eating candy out of her female friend's mouth hit the internet. Then, Consumer Reports magazine voiced their concerns after the star was seen in her film,
Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour, driving to a rehearsal without her seat belt. Her father,
Billy Ray, was also seen without his seat belt but recently apologized, saying, "We got caught up in the moment of filming, and we made a mistake and forgot to buckle our seat belts. Seat belt safety is extremely important," to People.com.
Thankfully, there is some good Miley Cyrus news to report today. This week, she was named as a presented for this year's Academy Awards along with many A-list celebrities.

At the 80th Academy Awards, Cyrus is on the list of presenters along with Nicole Kidman, George Clooney, and Queen Latifah's. Last year's winners Jennifer Hudson, Helen Mirren, Forrest Whitaker, and Alan Arkin will also present. Jon Stewart, of Comedy Central's
The Daily Show, will host the event which will take place at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood. The Oscars air next Sunday at 8pm ET.
Prior to the awards, ABC will air the 27th edition of The Barbara Walters Special, at 7pm ET. On the special, Walters will interview Indiana Jones star Harrison Ford, Emmy nominated actress Vanessa Williams, Oscar nominated actress Ellen Page, and Disney superstar Miley Cyrus. In the interview, Cyrus will talk about her goals as a singer and actress, the pressures of being a role model, and working with her father.
Miley spoke about the difference between her character on
Hannah Montana and her everyday life top to Walters. "Life is a little different than the show because I don't have the alter ego that I can escape to anymore," she said. "I think the basis of the show is pretty much life. When I'm at home, it's my friends, it's my family."
