It took four weeks for the Hannah Montana: The Movie soundtrack to reach the top of the Billboard 200, but they made it. Last Wednesday, the album for the pop sensation took the throne for the chart's No. 1 spot, becoming the third album from the massive Disney franchise to do so.
According to Nielsen SoundScan, the soundtrack sold 133,000 copies as last week ended. Before it gained more attention, the Hannah Montana box office album debuted at No. 2 and then plunged down to No. 5. But last week, it took the runner-up slot again and quickly climbed up to the chart's peak.
Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.
Thanks to the millions of fans that Miley Cyrus has hauled in, the album became the first to top the Billboard
200 for this year. It joins the ranks of Twilight
, Mamma Mia!
, and Juno
, which were honored with leading spots in 2008.
