Sloan Memorial Hospital is about to lose two of its longest-tenured
doctors. Jessica Capshaw and Sarah Drew, who play Arizona Robbins and
April Kepner, will both exit Grey's Anatomy
at the end of season 14.
While ABC has not officially renewed Grey's
for season 15, it seems inevitable given the strong ratings and a big new deal with star Ellen Pompeo. But it would go on without Arizona and April, two characters who have been a part of the show for nearly a decade.

The decision may not be a huge surprise for Capshaw's Arizona. Ever since Sara Ramirez left the show, Robbins hasn't had much to do and she's become less integral to the show's ever-expanding cast.
But losing Drew's April Kepner might have a bigger impact. April and Jackson share custody of their daughter Harriet, so it will be interesting to see how they write out her character since Jackson will likely stay on the show.
Over the last five years, Grey's Anatomy
has said goodbye to a number of long-time characters. Lexie Grey died at the end o season 8 and Mark Sloan left in season 9. Original stars Sandra Oh and Patrick Dempsey then left in seasons 10 and 11 while Sara Ramirez left the show in season 12. Last year saw the exit of Stephanie Edwards, making this the seventh season in a row to lose at least one series regular. In fact, during its entire run, seasons 1, 2, 4 and 7 are the only ones without a series regular leaving the show.Is April Giving Up on God?>>>
