If you're trying to get to the bottom of what's really going on on the set of
Grey's Anatomy and whether or not
T.R. Knight is leaving, good luck. Everywhere you turn, there's another side to the story. Earlier this week, it was reported that a
Grey's cast member had gotten fed up with their lack of storylines and meaty material and was looking to leave. Though the original news item didn't mention a name, every
Grey's fan out there assumed it was T.R. A celeb gossip blog run by an entertainment lawyer, Crazy Days and Nights, claimed that he walked off the set after saying goodbye to his hair and makeup people. A spokesperson for
Grey's said that T.R.'s job was safe and he wasn't going anywhere. Today comes word that T.R. is in negotiations to leave and looking to make a peaceful exit.
Now, there is some validity to the rumors that T.R. Knight has been unhappy with
Grey's for quite some time and this goes back to the whole incident with Isaiah Washington. T.R. felt that the show, and Shonda Rhimes, took too long to address the fact that Isaiah used inappropriate language. However, a source close to
Grey's Anatomy said that T.R.'s need to leave has nothing to do with the past, how many lines he has, or how he is being treated on set. "He just feels it's time to move on," the source simply said.
“He’s seen what his friend (Heigl) has done with her career — lots of people in the industry said she wouldn’t translate to film and she has. He wants more than what he can get from
Grey’s,” another source told MSNBC today. Apparently, T.R. is convinced that he can make it in movies and feels that his character George's storyline no longer inspires him. Of course,
Grey's Anatomy has refused to comment on the story. Knight's rep, meanwhile, has said that the stories are completely false and insists that the actor is still working for the show?
