If you saw so much as at least one of this season's episode of Grey's Anatomy, you'll know that if Izzie (Katherine Heigl) isn't missing in action, she's blaming erstwhile hubby Alex (Justin Chambers) for getting her fired. Never mind that the poor guy cried like a baby when he left without so much as a hey.
That being said, if you still have faith on Alex and Izzie after all this, shame on you. As for Justin Chambers, he tells TV Guide that the scary Rebecca episode just might have an upcoming sequel. Don't you miss Rebecca?
"Alex is just fed up," he says. "He's not built for all of this. He really meant what he said when he committed to her at their wedding and now he just feels that it's all rushed too fast and he hasn't really necessarily thought things through. He has so much emotional baggage anyway."
Izzie is set to return to Seattle Grace on January 21st, the one that follows the Grey's Anatomy-Private Practice
crossover that will mark the two shows' return next year. How the character will be integrated to the storyline in a prolonged basis, we have no idea. Izzie was fired early this season for derailing a patient's kidney donation.
Alex will reportedly find himself drunk at Joe's bar (with the Chief maybe?) where he'll stumble upon a one-night stand. The identity of the woman is still under wraps but Chambers assures fans that they're in for a surprise.
"I think it's great though. It just adds a little spice to the show. The writers are really good at turning corners and taking your head for a little spin. It surprised me as much as it will the audience."
First guess, of course, would be Mercy Wester Reed (Nora Zehetner), who'd been hovering over Alex since day one of their invasion, but that won't be surprising, will it?
