
Pet lovers are happy to know that CBS is tossing them a treat this summer with their newest reality series that puts the spotlight on the ever-reliable man's best friend. CBS'
Greatest American Dog will pit 12 teams of dogs and owners in a competition that will test owners' skills in handling dogs. The show will premiere on July 10 at 8:00pm, when pet lovers will get to see dogs of all shapes and sizes competing to grab the title of
Greatest American Dog.
Read on to meet the cast of the reality competition, which will be hosted by zoologist and television personality,

Greatest American Dog will place 12 contenders and their pet dogs in one house, where they are to compete against each other in challenges which will be judged by
Wendy Diamond,
Allan Reznick and
Victoria Stilwell. Every week, a owner-dog team will be eliminated, and all challenges will lead up to the finale, in which a cash prize of $250,000 is at stake.
The contenders hail from all parts of the United States, and not all of them has sent their pets to doggy school. In fact, some have just home-trained their dogs.

Beth Joy from New York is
Bella Starlet's acting manager. Bella Starlet is a 10-year-old Chihuahua, Labrador Retriever, Shih-Tzu, Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever and Pomeranian mix.
Bill from Flint, Texas is works in the building maintenance industry and is the owner of
Star, a 7-year-old Brittany.
The
Brandy and Beacon team consists of a fashion designer from Orange County, California and a 1-year-old Miniature Schnauzer.
Doctor
David from New York is the owner of
Elvis, a two-year-old Parson Russell Terrier.
Team
Elan and Kenji is composed of Elan from Portland, Oregon, an aspiring dog salon owner, and his 1-year-old Giant Schnauzer, Kenji.
Going up against the 11 teams are dog entertainer
J.D. from Bend, Oregon, and his 9-year-old English Pointer Border Collie and Labrador mix,
Galaxy.
Laura is a film producer from Los Angeles, and the owner of a five-year-old Pomeranian named
Preston.
Laurie is a doggie day care owner and former fitness trainer originally from Ravenna, Ohio. She's the proud owner of
Andrew, a 5-year-old Maltese.
Two-year-old
Ezzie is a Boston Terrier owned by aspiring comic
Michael from Los Angeles.
The
Ron and Tillman team is composed of a construction manager from Oxnard, California and a three-year-old English Bull Dog.
Teresa from Fairfax, Virginia is a dog sitter and former high school Latin teacher who owns five-year-old Border Collie,
Leroy.
Going up against the 11 other teams are
Travis, a bartender from Los Angeles, and his dog, Presley, a year-old
Boxer.
