The New York Daily News is reporting that fashion-forward (almost to the distant future forward) singer Lady Gaga is filming a scene on Gossip Girl today that is set to air sometime in Season 3.

"Even Upper East Side queen Blair Waldorf would deign to take the downtown 6 train if a Lady Gaga gig was the reward," says the Daily News today of the casting choice. Ehh, we don't know about that, but we do know that a performance by the Gaga (yes, she's performing, and yes, as herself) will do what we might not have deemed possible: spice up an already star-studding Gossip Girl season 3.

Gaga joins the ranks of Tyra Banks, Hilary Duff, Tory Burch, Georgina Marchesa, Sonic Youth, and Gina Torres as another high-profile celeb to grace the Gossip screen this season.

Which New York icon will it be next? Trump? Liza? Anna Wintour herself? Only time will tell...
