Last night marked the end of a long dry spell between episodes of
Gossip Girl as the teen drama returned with the episode called "
In The Realm of the Basses." But that's not the only reason for fans to celebrate. According to
Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello,
Michelle Trachtenberg will soon reprise her role as our favorite backstabber, Georgina Sparks.
Warning: Possible spoilers below!!!
Serena's arch nemesis will reportedly be riding back to the Upper East Side on her crazy train for multiple episodes, likely toward the end of the second season. Expect a lot of "OMG" moments as the return of Georgina Sparks means that there's some drama in the works for the hit CW show and hints that
Gossip Girl may have some big twists and turns coming to the plot, considering that she'll probably have some key part in the episodes leading up to the season finale.
Michelle Trachtenberg, who is perhaps most noted for her role as
Sarah Michelle Gellar's on-screen younger sister on
Buffy the Vampire Slayer, joined the cast of
Gossip Girl in the episode "Desperately Seeking Serena" which aired on April 28, 2008 as a girl from Serena's past who returns after escaping rehab in Utah. Her sudden return caused Serena to relapse to her old habits but luckily, Blair took matters into her own hands and informed Georgina's parents of her location. Fans last saw her being carted off to the Kimberly Shaw Correctional Institute.
Meanwhile, there's an ongoing rumor that has certainly left fans buzzing with theories. Word on the street is that Georgina might turn out to be Lily and Rufu's MIA love child.
A rep from the show has yet to make a comment on the issue.
Are excited to see Georgina back on
