Georgina Sparks is easily one of the best characters to ever stir up trouble on
Gossip Girl. The conniving, deceitful and slightly insane teen arrived last season intent on destroying Serena's life, eventually leading S to reveal that she kind of, sort of killed a man. I had previously enjoyed
Michelle Trachtenberg's work on
Buffy the Vampire Slayer and
Six Feet Under, but the actress really proved herself by transforming into the uber-bitch of the Upper East Side. G eventually got shipped off to boarding school when Blair tricked her into reuniting with her parents, but her presence still looms over the series. Viewers know that she could return at any moment, and when she does both B and S will have to watch their backs.
According to the
New York Post, Trachtenberg was seen on the
Gossip Girl set last week paling around with her on-screen nemesis,
Leighton Meester. Could Georgina's return already be in the works?
The photo above shows Trachtenberg hanging out on the
Gossip Girl set, but unfortunately there's been no official announcement of Georgina's return. However, the fact that she feels comfortable visiting the set in her free time is certainly a good sign for things to come. There have always been rumors about assorted backstage dramas between
GG cast members, but it looks like Trachtenberg enjoyed her stint on the show. The writers would be wise to cap off season 2 of the series with another appearance from Georgina, who would certainly be more fun to watch than snooze-inducing Aaron Rose.
Another character who I hope returns to the series is Cougar Catherine, aka The Duchess, played by the awesome
Madchen Amick. After her short stint on
Gossip Girl, Amick went on to star in the
Christian Slater spy drama
My Own Worst Enemy, which was recently canceled by NBC. Now that her bland role as a housewife is over, I'd love to see the actress return to the Upper East Side to enact her revenge against Blair. She could even bring Lord Marcus and his fake British accent along with her.
Which character would you most like to see return to
Gossip Girl? Do you miss the nutty antics of Georgina Sparks as much as I do? Sound off below.
