The Gossip Girl spin-off is good to go but not really.  Set to be introduced in the Gossip Girl universe on its May 11 episode, the still untitled new spin-off will serve as more or less a prequel to the current CW hit centering on teenager Lily van der Woodsen (Kelly Rutherford) as Lily Rhodes in 1980s Los Angeles.

Asked for some details regarding the spin-off, Gossip Girl lead Blake Lively said they weren't really given a lot of details. “But our second-to-last episode is going to double as their pilot.  So a lot of our show will be flashbacks of the young Lily and the young Rufus, which you'll be seeing in the new series.”

Does Serena like the idea of her teenage mom getting her own show? “I think it's a great idea!” said Lively, cautioning viewers, however, that the new series will only be greenlit if the particular episode gets a “good response.”
