Glee: Preview of Special Premiere
Glee: Preview of Special Premiere
On the small screen tonight is the special premiere of Glee, an exciting new musical comedy created by Ryan Murphy (Nip/Tuck, Popular).  The hour-long series focuses on a teacher trying to transform their school's glee club, turning the bunch of middling performers into sensational contenders for the national competition.

Glee follows the efforts of McKinley High School's Glee Club, as they struggle to attain their former glory on the top of the choir world.  Years of scandal have turned the organization into a haven for misfits, but one teacher wishes to change all of that.  The teenagers' dreams are now in the hands of one person: Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison), who has volunteered to undertake the Herculean task of bringing McKinley's Glee Club to the top.

However, the young optimist won't be doing it alone.  Helping him out is fellow teacher Emma Pillsbury (Jayma Mays).  The two of them will straighten out the brightest stars of the club, from the nerdy soprano Kurt (Chris Colfer), diva-in-training Mercedes (Amber Riley), geeky guitarist Arty (Kevin McHale) and the awkward, stuttering Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz).

Fortunately, there are two talents giving the club its hope - the perfectionist Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) and the popular high school quarterback boasting of a Motown voice Finn Hudson (Cory Monteith).  Will has taken it upon himself to do whatever it takes to restore the fame that the Glee Club formerly enjoyed, even confront his superiors.

Wanting to make Glee even greater, Will has to deal with his tough-as-nails wife Terri Schuester (Jessalyn Gilsig) and McKinley's cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester (guest star Jane Lynch).  Boundaries between cliques will be crossed as dreams are fulfilled, as long as everyone believes that these kids are something special.
