Kelly Marie Monaco, who was born on May 23, 1976 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, grew up with an affinity to sports such as soccer, swimming and track. While in college, she worked as a lifeguard and later ventured into modeling. As for her modeling ventures, she appeared on Playboy magazine as Playboy Playmate of the Month of April 1997. Moving to Los Angeles, she dreamed of becoming an actress and later on landed a role on Baywatch. After her short stint on Baywatch, she appeared on the soap opera Port Charles. In September of 2003, she joined the cast of General Hospital as Samantha McCall. Monaco has been nominated for a daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role on Port Charles and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role on General Hospital.
Samantha "Sam" McCall is played by Kelly Monaco on ABC's television series, General Hospital. Sam was first involved with Jasper Jacks while they were on a mission to retrieve four cards. The two bonded with intense feelings for each other but was tainted with guilt from the loss of Jax's father. Sam later on became involved with mob boss Sonny Corinthos, with whom she slept with after running away from a crime scene. Sam later gave birth to a baby whom she raised with Jason Morgan, who prevented her from aborting the baby and with her, raised the baby as his own.
