On Friday's
General Hospital, Claudia and Johnny cover their tracks and create alibis as Sonny's hit is about to take place. Carly heads to the Metro Court and makes a scene, demanding to see Carly. Johnny goes off in search of Luke but finds Lulu instead who, after yelling at him, kisses him passionately. Jason and Elizabeth discuss having a life together to raise Jake. Ian takes his shot at Sonny, who uses his quick reflexes to shield Kate from the gunfire. When they sit up, they see that Michael has been shot and is lying on the ground, unconscious.
Jason tells Elizabeth that he's willing to commit to a life with her. Alexis yells at Jerry, who almost ran her down while racing down the street to try to protect Michael at the piers. Claudia accuses Carly of carrying feelings for Sonny.
Johnny pulls away from Lulu, asking if he is what she wants just the way he is. Alexis gets a call that there has been a shooting at the warehouse. The EMTs arrive to take Michael to the hospital, who has been shot in the head. Claudia looks panicked as she witnesses Carly getting the news from Kate that Michael has been shot. Jason proposes to Elizabeth, who says yes, but the mood is dampened when Carly calls him to tell him the devastating news.
Ian returns to the hospital and finds out that Patrick is getting ready to perform surgery on Michael. Kate is questioned by the police at the warehouse. Johnny is with Lulu when she finds out from Spinelli that Michael has been shot. Claudia confronts Ian at the hospital, but he is pulled away to assist on Michael's surgery. Lulu asks Johnny if he was involved in Michael's shooting. Carly arrives at the hospital and breaks down when Sonny tells her what happened. He tries to get her to keep it together by telling her that Michael was alive on his way to the hospital and that everything will be fine.
Carly gets a few minutes alone with Michael before he is taken into surgery. She tells him to stay strong and fight, because they have a lot of things they still have to do together. She asks him to come back to her before sending him off in the care of Patrick and Ian. Jerry shows up at the hospital to confront Ian about the shooting gone wrong. The two head to his car where Jerry holds a gun at him for shooting Michael. He lets him go but Ian soon finds himself back in front of Claudia. Lulu arrives at the hospital and Carly has her call her family and Jax to let them know. Sonny takes out his anger on Jason for not doing his job and not protecting him and his family. Carly steps in and defends Jason, telling Sonny that Michael's shooting is on him.
