'Friday Night Lights' Preview: The Lions Get A Little Boost
Now that episode was a downer.

I mean, we all know Friday Night Lights is getting a reboot of sorts, since most of the folks we've been following at Dillon High graduated--and, to complicate things, Eric found himself sent to coach East Dillon since the town split into two school districts. Meanwhile, Tami is still at West Dillon and Julie wants to move to East Dillon, where Landry is. And Riggins went home, and Matt delivers pizza...

To complicate things further, watching Eric establish himself at East Dillon was depressing.  Just look at that dusty football field!  All the running the players were doing!  Attitude issues!  Vince was apprehended by cops!  We'll see more of him soon, but that's not exactly a good place to start.  All the screaming!

Just look at the stark difference between the Lions game--small number of people, Becky singing--and the Panthers game, with its polished field, crazy crowd and crazier J.D.  I know Eric will make things better for the Lions, but it's going to be a looong time from now.

On Friday Night Lights tonight, things will get messy over at West Dillon.  Tami makes a stand that's probably going to make her more unpopular than she already is.  And the Panthers stumble into a controversy so, uhh, controversial, it sends a star player over to Eric and his demoralized Lions.

And then there's Riggins, who ends up living in an unexpected place (I'm guessing it's with Becky) and Matt, who meets an artist as he finds his way through life. Friday Night Lights airs  tonight at 8pm on NBC.
