Tired of the same old dating shows and reality searches?  Here’s something new for you.  VH1, the same network and creative minds behind the wacky reality dating competition Flavor of Love, is now in the works of creating yet another reality search that will keep audiences at the edge of their seats.  In fact, the network has teamed up with Lionsgate to bring us another fall offering that will literally have us screaming for more.

The Hollywood Reporter recently announced that VH1 has said yes to Scream Queens, a Lionsgate production which aims to search for the next biggest horror actress.

Scream Queens pits 10 yet-unknown actresses to compete in several challenges leading up to a finale, in which only one will land a major role in an upcoming horror flick from Lionsgate Films.  The actresses will be judged by a yet-unnamed director from Lionsgate’s roster, and while acting coach John Homa will train the women as they go along in the competition.  Acclaimed acting coach John Homa has been instrumental in the success of actresses such as Taylor Momsen, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Amber Tamblyn and Julie Berman.  He has also worked with the ABC network for their soap operas General Hospital and Port Charles.  His latest endeavor includes the new VH1 reality search.

"Horror films have dominated the pop culture landscape for decades and along the way have produced some of the biggest names in Hollywood," Jeff Olde, VH1's Executive VP for Original Programmin and Production, said in a statement.

In line with this, Kevin Beggs, Lionsgate's President of TV Programming Production, said that they chose VH1 to deliver the new series because the network could carry its alternative theme.

"VH1 has had a tremendous track record in launching alternative programming that captures viewers' imaginations—it's the perfect home for 'Scream Queens,'" he said.

Moreover, Lionsgate's President of Production, Mike Paseornek added that "discovering new talent is always exciting."

Joke Fincioen and Biagio Messina will serve as executive producers for Scream Queens, under Joke Productions. Jim Ackerman, Dave Hamilton and Jeff Olde will serve as executive producers for VH1.
