The past seven episodes of
Farmer Wants a Wife have provided an interesting, occasionally horrifying look at the realities of farm life. Farmer
Matt Neustadt has put his wannabe brides through all sorts of down home trials, forcing them to put on a talent show, bake pies, stick their hands up the rectums of pregnant cows, harvest corn, shear sheep, and play bingo with senior citizens. Tomorrow night, the farmer with the chiseled abs and the butterface will finally pick his little missus. The only question remaining is whether he should choose
Christa or
Brooke.
Out of the two remaining contestants on
Farmer Wants a Wife, Christa seems like the strangest fit with the supposedly innocent country boy. She sports a nose ring, once licked a broken egg off the floor just for fun, and has made no attempt to hide her distaste for Brooke. However, the term "opposites attract" isn't just the title of a catchy Paula Abdul song, and it's possible that Matt sees something irresistible in her. Christa was the first girl that he picked for a private date back in the first episode of the series, and he's seemed smitten with her ever since.
Brooke often received a cold shoulder from many of her competitors, but she also proved herself by winning three different challenges throughout the series. Though some found her to be annoying and hypocritical, Brooke's ability to toss hay bales and harvest corn makes her a natural fit for Missouri farm life. However, Matt was obviously in no hurry to ask her out for a private date, which he neglected to do until the sixth episode. Though the date seemed to go well, it's possible Matt didn't feel an immediate attraction to the California gal.
Of course, one thing that would make for a real twist is if Matt copied a famous moment from
The Bachelor and chose neither of them. After all, is he really expected to get married to a woman he met on a reality show? He'll most likely pick someone in the end, but we'll have to wait and see if the romance actually lasts.
To see who Matt chooses to settle down with, tune in to the season finale of
Farmer Wants a Wife tomorrow night at 9pm on the CW. I'm putting my money on Christa, though I think Brooke would be the smarter choice.
