Steven Culp was popularly known as Rex Van De Kamp on the dramedy Desperate Housewives. He played the husband of Bree Van De Kamp (Marcia Cross) but was eventually killed off. Despite his death on the show, he returned in a few episodes as a narrator and in the form of flashbacks.

After Desperate Housewives, Culp starred in the 2007 film Firehouse Dog. The action-comedy movie about a Hollywood canine star featured Culp as the character Zachary Hayden. The cast also included Josh Hutcherson, Bruce Greenwood, Bill Nunn, Scotch Ellis Loring, Teddy Sears and Mayte Garcia. He also guest starred on The West Wing. In addition, he joined the seventh tournament of Celebrity Poker Showdown, a celebrity themed-game show, in which a $1 million prize pool is at stake. During his participation, he played against his male Desperate Housewives costars like Ricardo Chavira, Doug Savant, James Denton and Mark Moses. He proceeded in the championship game and eventually won the show’s seventh tournament final.

At present, he can be seen on the ABC series Traveler, a show that follows two graduate students who become suspects when a museum is bombed while they are pulling a prank. On the show, Culp plays the character Special Agent Fred Chambers. The main cast includes Matthew Bomer as Jay Burchell, Logan Marshall-Green as Tyler Fog, Aaron Stanford as Will Traveler, Viola Davis as Agent Jan Marlow, Anthony Ruivivar as Agent Borjes, Pascale Hutton as Kim Doherty and William Sadler as Carlton Fog. Traveler airs every Wednesday at 10/9 C on ABC.
