Dana Welles Delany is an Emmy Award-winning stage, film and television performer who was born on March 13, 1956 in New York City. She was raised in Connecticut, and studied at Phillips Academy in Andover, MA. Delany eventually went on to higher learning at Wesleyan University. Delany has performed on Broadway in the production A Life and Translations. She has also acted in television series such as Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, Boston Legal, and Battlestar Galactica. She won two Emmy Awards for the role of Colleen McMurphy in the television drama China Beach. Apart from acting, Delany has also served on the board of the Scleroderma Research Foundation.

Katherine Mayfair is portrayed by Dana Delany in the ABC network’s Emmy Award-winning comedy drama television series Desperate Housewives. She is the wife of Adam Mayfair.
