Longoria Says No 'Desperate Housewives' Cameo for Heather Mills
Sunday, September 21, 2008

MillsAfter reportedly being in prolonged talks with Desperate Housewives top guns for Heather Mills to appear on the hit ABC show, the former model's publicist Michele Elyzabeth said it was Eva Longoria-Parker who talked the producer out of the idea.

Mills, 41 and the ex-wife of Beatles member Paul McCartney, was said to have been “desperate” to break into Hollywood recently, trying to secure roles on a high-profile TV series.  “I even had discussions with the bosses of Ugly Betty but they gave me a flat no.  The major TV shows over here just didn't think Heather fitted in anywhere,” Elyzabeth said, while adding that other American dramas have turned down the Brit's unsolicited offers.

Apparently, Desperate Housewives was the show Mills came the closest to getting a cameo but Longoria had other things in mind.  The publicist revealed the Desperate Housewives producers were very keen on the idea of a Mills cameo to drum up publicity for the show's fifth season 5 premiere on September 28, Sunday at 9pm.

"But when the stars discussed her casting, Eva was totally against it.  She demanded Heather be dropped from consideration,” Elyzabeth said.

Just last May, the controversial former model expressed her intentions of appearing on Donald Trump's The Apprentice, in hopes of boosting her not-so-sunny image in the States, following a bitter divorce with McCartney.  According to a source, “She thinks this will be the perfect way to show America she's more than just Paul McCartney's ex wife.”

While the source didn't give any specific reason for Longoria's single-handedly derailing the plans of Mills, observers speculated that it merely bolstered persistent rumors that the better half of San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker is, in reality, the harshest, most diva-ish housewife on the cast.
