Biography

Zane Huett as Parker Scavo on Desperate Housewives

Zane Huett as Parker Scavo

Parker Scavo is portrayed by Zane Huett on the television series, Desperate Housewives. Parker is an elementary student at Barcliff Academy. He has two older brothers, one younger sister, and for a short while, had an imaginary friend named Mrs. Mulberry. He invented Mrs. Mulberry after his mother, Lynette, returned to the busy and high-paced world of advertising. His attachment to Mrs. Mulberry, who apparently had a black umbrella (an idea similar to Mrs. Poppins, another fictional nanny), was replaced with his fascination with a puppy dog, which Lynette bought to get rid of Mrs. Mulberry.

At one point in time, Parker was forced to have his entire head shaved by Lynette. His older brothers had put gum in his hair, and Lynette found extracting the sticky candy from Parker’s hair impossible. Coincidentally, Parker had a cold and could not go to school, and so Lynette had no choice but to take her bald son to her yoga class. Upon arriving late, Lynette gained the sympathy of the woman in charge of filling the class by saying that Parker was being treated for cancer.

Among the Scavo children, Parker was the one who appeared genuinely concerned about Lynette’s condition after she (and many others) was held hostage in the supermarket. Eventually, his constant worrying for his mother compelled Lynette to leave her job and help her husband Tom, with the family’s pizzeria.
