Just last week, BuddyTV reported that
Andrea Bowen will soon return to Wisteria Lane to reprise her role as Julie Meyer on
Desperate Housewives. Towards the end of last season, her character was officially admitted into Princeton University and one of the professors at Princeton was so impressed by her senior thesis that she was offered a summer internship.
As we head further into the fifth season of
Desperate Housewives, however, Susan (
Teri Hatcher) will be reunited with her daughter Julie and according to
Entertainment Weekly, she's got a hell of a surprise for her mother and it has something to do with her new boyfriend.
Warning: Spoilers ahead!!!
When Julie returns to Wisteria Lane next month, she'll be brining along her boyfriend who comes in the form of
Steven Weber. The 47-year-old actor, who is credited for his roles on
Wings, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, and
Brothers and Sisters, has been cast to portray Julie's thrice-divorced college professor-turned-lover.
In the episode, which is reportedly the eighth installment of the season, the couple comes home to Wisteria Lane for a visit, which drives “once-neurotic Susan into an even more neurotic, pill-popping mess.”
On the other hand, it seems that Susan won't suffer much longer as the couple's visit is expected to be brief. As of now, Weber and Brown are only slated to appear for a single episode of
Desperate Housewives.
Since leaving
Desperate Housewives, Bowen has landed a guest stint in an episode of
The Closer, which aired in July. Weber, on the other hand, has been more visible on the TV circuit. Most recently, he appeared on
Psych and on
Without A Trace, and has been cast in a string of upcoming movies such as the comedy
My One and Only, the drama
Son of Mourning and the thriller
Blue World.
