After the first three seasons, Deal or No Deal
has never had a contestant win the million dollar top prize. The game is so simple and random that, after 246 episodes, the law of averages dictates that a few people would've won the million by now. Fifteen contestants have actually chosen the million dollar case, but they all took deals to give up their case.
In season 4, that's all about to change. Premiering last Monday, NBC has promised that this season, Deal or No Deal
will have its first million dollar winner. If you want to know exactly when that first lucky contestant will get the grand prize so you know when to tune in, continue reading.
WARNING: DEAL OR NO DEAL SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
You don't have to wait long, because this Monday, September 1, Labor Day, at 8pm, Deal or No Deal
will crown its first million dollar winner!
Last season the show began its Million Dollar Mission, in which an additional million dollar case was added every time a contestant failed to win. The first installment reached eight cases with no winners. For the second time, the show actually had two contestants with 13 million dollar cases, yet even with half the board covered, neither won the million dollars.
Season 4 of Deal or No Deal
began with another Million Dollar Mission, this time starting with four million dollar cases. In the season premiere, Koshka Blagburn went all the way, with the final two cases containing $1,000 and $1,000,000. Rather than take the deal for more than half a million dollars, she kept her case, which unfortunately did not contain the million.
Monday night, with five million dollar cases, we are promised our first ever million dollar winner. It's smart of NBC to schedule the million dollar episode on Labor Day, because it will need the boost in ratings with stiff competition returning. Monday also brings the two-hour season 4 premiere of Prison Break
on FOX and the season 2 premiere of Gossip Girl
on the CW.
