James Acheson became a household name when he was cast on NBC’s Days of Our Lives
, a soap opera that revolves around families of the fictional town of Salem. He entered the plot as Jack Deveraux, who was originally portrayed by Joseph Adams. As a politically ambitious newspaper reporter from a well-off family, he entered the scene as an outright villain. Eventually, he established himself as a main character through his heroic yet arrogant and self-loathing persona, and undying love for Jennifer Horton.
After his stint on Days of Our Lives
, Acheson appeared on numerous television shows such as Perfect People, Body Language, Harry and the Hendersons
, and The Garden of Redemption
. He also had recurring roles on Reasonable Doubts
as Andy Cromyer, and Witchblade
as James Pezzini. In the big screen, he acted in Strange Days, Kazaam, and In the Shadow of the Cobra
. Apart from acting in movies, he also served as a producer for Journey to the End of the Night, Mozart and the Whale
and The Needs of Kim Stanley
At present, Acheson continues to pursue his career as a producer for the 2008 film Mad Money
. The said film is a crime-comedy plot that centers on three broke female employees of the Federal Reserve who are faced with the growing temptation of the cash that surrounds them every night, and the scheme for their creative moneymaking. Leading the cast are Diane Keaton as Bridget Cardigan, Queen Latifah as Nina Brewster and Katie Holmes as Jackie Truman. Other cast members include Ted Danson as Don Cardigan, Roger R. Cross as Barry and Adam Rothenberg as Bob Truman.
