Peggy McCay was born on November 3, 1930 in New York City. She graduated from Columbia University right before she was given a role as Vanessa Dale in the soap opera Love of Life. In the 1950s she played in four feature films before landing a part in the television sitcom Room for One More in 1962. Two years later she returned to soap operas, appearing in The Young Marrieds. Later on she was cast for a role in
General Hospital . Other appearances include Eleanor and Franklin: The White House Years and How the West Was Won, both miniseries, and The Lazarus Syndrome movie and television series. McCay is best known for her role in Days of Our Lives as Caroline Brady. She was also nominated for Daytime Emmy Awards in 1986 and 1987 for that role.
Caroline Brady is played by Peggy McCay in Days of Our Lives. Caroline is the wife of Shawn Brady, the love of her life with whom she had three children with. They also took in Frankie and Max, two orphaned children. She was a good and loving mother who wanted to take the fall for her daughter when Kayla was accused of murdering Marina Toscano. However, Kayla still ends up in jail but is later exonerated. Caroline had her own fair share of devastating moments like when she was kidnapped by Tony DiMera, making her family believe she was dead.
