Jay Kenneth Johnson was born on February 24, 1977 in Springfield, Missouri. He grew up wanting to become either a professional athlete. He was educated at Southwest Missouri State where he majored in business and theatre. He moved to Los Angeles and there started appearing in commercials. He also did modeling before he landed the role of Brendan in
The Young and the Restless . He was cast for the role of Philip Kiriakis on Days of Our Lives and another role on North Shore. He also starred in Hotel and guest starred in
Charmed ,
CSI: NY ,
CSI: Miami , and
Scrubs . He enjoys reading, roller-blading, beach going, sports and music and would someday like to start his own band.
Philip Robert Kiriakis is played by Jay Kenneth Johnson in The Days of Our Lives. Philip was born in an unusual way. His mother Kate was unable to get pregnant so she went to the doctor to have her egg fertilized with her husband's sperm. However, a mix-up occurred and the fertilized egg ended up in her archenemy, Vivian's womb. Vivian gave birth to Philip, while trying to get Victor for herself. In high school, Philip fell in love with Chloe but their relationship turned sour when she falsely accused him of rape and when her nude photos appeared in the Last Blast dance. He then left for the military but came back shortly only to fall in love with Belle Black. They got married before he was called back to serve in Iraq.
